Photo collage design ideas?

I am decorating my room and I really want a collection of my own pictures on the wall in a nice collage effect. Can anyone point me in the direction of some designs?

I am looking for something where the pictures overlap each other, messy yet still looks good. I will be printing the pictures onto glossy photo paper but I'd like to cut a lot of them into angular shapes. Also, I'd love to have some kind of messy, overlapping background possibly made of card or tissue paper? I don't mind the colour scheme.

As you can tell of pretty much got it planned out but I'm just not sure how to arrange it. Please post your suggestions! :)

I did a photo collage like a year ago on my wall and I love it! I would try for an organized look cause I tried the messy look and it looked bad. At least to me.

Go for various sizes of pictures and experiment with it. Try different picture frames too. I put my photos kind of in a year by year look. I suggest using tape in case you change your mind or just want to adjust something. Or if you want a different look. It is a bit wasteful of tape unless you want to use the tacky stuff. I didn't cause I was worried about it making marks on my wall.

You can try to sketch it on paper first and see what it would look like, but I don't recommend just start slapping pictures on your wall cause its a pretty time consuming project. Finding enough pictures to fill my wall took me a long time. But patience is always rewarded :)

If you do really want a messy look, I would make it somewhat organized so its not much just a wall with a bunch on stuff on it. But do what you want. Experiment. Try whatever pleases you, just as long as you have fun and like it.

You can also look up photo collages on other peoples' walls.

    Good luck!
