Should i buy an hp or macbook pro?

I'm thinking about getting a MacBook pro fro when I go away for college but I'm undecided about it because macs are more expensive, better and I gotta be REALLY careful so it doesn't get stolen like the other one I had :(.

Condidering the facts about MAC, should I buy it or not?

Well, in college when essentially everyone has a laptop, a macbook really is a good way to show off around the campus! It really is a great laptop for college. It's great with multitasking, and the new OS Lion coming out will be even BETTER at multitasking. Not to mention, virtually virus free, and Macbook's are just so reliable. Most people keep there's for 5-8 years, until they start acting not as brand new anymore. They act just like they did out of the box, for 5-8 years!

They ARE expensive, but the price you'd pay to buy the HP, and to probably have to buy another one in 2-3 years, equals MORE than the price of this one Macbook Pro.

As to the other answer's response, the Macbook PRO DOES NOT have WHITE keys. It has black backlit key. She is thinking of the normal white macbook that has white keys.

Goodluck! You'll love the mac if you get it!

    Hello there,

Go for the macbook pro..If you want to flaunt your laptop at college just buy macbook. It has a very vibrant display, now it comes with an "Intel i7 2nd Gen. Processor", Thunderbolt , OS LION(not released yet but its definitely better than windows. It will be released in July ) . It attracts no viruses/trojans/worms unlike windows based machines.

If you are a little tight on budget then opt for "DELL 15z" . Its very much similar to macbook. But it runs windows.

    Glad if i am helpful...cheers!!

No offense to any Mac lovers here, but you really do not get what you're paying for when you buy a Mac. They're way over priced and can't do anything more than a regular PC can do. If your personal preference lies within a Mac, and it's what you're comfortable with however, I'd go with that. You're planning to have it for a while so get what suits you best.

Well, the MacBook Pro has white keys, which will get dirty very fast and you can't get rid of it. You can use windex but the windex fades out the letters. Anyways, most games that I play ( Perfect World International, Toontown, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. ) require hp. The MacBook has better internet, easier to use, so it mostly your choice.

You can run windows on a Mac, so all you need is one computer. And macs are only £20 to upgrade, compared to the ££££ you spend on upgrading windows. The choice is yours.
