Why did yahoo answers delete my answer to a question?

The deleted answer is a violation for 'chat' and 'not an answer'. Most people don’t like that rule but they must follow it or they get violations for ‘chatting’. Y!A is NOT a chat room but a knowledge seeking website. Also, every user here must answer the question to avoid getting violations. Reading the rules here avoids getting a lot of violations.

I'm afraid your answer was deleted because of a misuse of the Q&A violation (not an answer). The answer you posted wasn't relevant to the question being asked by another user.

As for who deleted your answer, Yahoo has absolutely nothing to do with it. The members of this community whose reports caused its deletion from this site.

You didn't answer the question. The question was seeking a dating suggestion and your answer was more of a general relationship suggestion that had no relevance to the question asked. Most people would have let it pass, but someone or some people probably targeted you because your answer was short, came off as rude, and you had a user name with a racial tone--all indications of a troll.

The question was in fact a chat violation as it did not ask for factual knowledge as an answer. That makes it impossible to answer without violating the rules. Your answer would be classed as chat I am afraid.
