my car is making a clicking noise when my ac is on.?

hello,

i have a honda 2000 crv, and when the ac is on, it's making a "click, click" noise every 5-10 sec or so. i read that it might be because i m low in freon, but i added some and when i checked the indicator, it says that the ac is full.

also i noticed that the ac isn't as cold as it was (or as it should be). does that mean that i have a leak? if so, any idea of how much it is going to cost?

tks for the help.

If your low on freon(by weight of freon in the system and not PSI) than you have a leak anyway about it. The important thing to know about the home freon kits is that they dont do the job correctly and actually overfill the ac system causing what you describe most of the time.

If you get a mechanic to fill it by weight than it should stop making the noise,

The clicking noise is the compressor clutch engaging and disengaging so if you really want to fix it than you can either get the proper ac kit or get a mechanic to do it by weight and not psi.

Does it come from the blower motor? Does it do it on warmth besides while the fan is on? if so it seems such as you could want a blower motor, extra advantageous than some autos one I had squealed like loopy......That drove me up the wall.
