what does Augustine mean in French?

    Augustine is a person's name. If someone uses the French word "augustin" then they are referring to someone who belongs to the Augustinian religious order or the works or philosophy of St. Augustine.

    As far as I'm aware, it's a girls name that comes from the latin Augustinus which means venerated, its the same as in english. Augustin is the same name in french for boys.

    I'm not aware that it's anything other than a name in french, although I may be wrong.
