Nonito Donaire back to Top Rank. Who will he fight?

Now that Nonito is back with Top Rank, who do you think he should fight to get back on track. After a long break, he misses some opportunity but now that he is back, I am sure WBC won't stripped him of his title. How about a fight between him and Jorge Arce? In your opinion, who do you think he should fight.http://philboxing.com/news/column-609-57118.html

Update:

@ Myself,

That would be a good match. I only don't know if Anselmo Moreno is willing to fight in the US or if Donaire want to fight in Panama. He mostly fought either in Panama, Europe and once in Venezuela. Totally unknown fighter in the US but with such a record would be a good match to watch. Nice answer, I forgot about this fighter.

Update 2:

@ Green Lantern,

Nehomar Cermeno have two Split Decision losses to Anselmo Moreno, once in Valenzuela and once in Panama. A fight against Ponce de Leon be a good one too. Worth watching.

Are you sure he is back with Top Rank? There's no indication that he already is since he has the option to sit out the remainder of his original contract with TR, i.e. up to September 2011 including the three months TR claimed he still owed them on account of his so-called medical leaves during the duration of the said contract supposed to end last month (June).

My feeling is that If he still fails to get a release by then and TR tries to assert its claim over him by virtue of a ruling by an arbiter recently ( which did not specify whether the ruling remains valid after the extension period ), my guess is that Donaire and GBP will elevate the matter to the proper courts for decision.

If that happens, Nonito will not be available to fight anybody and chances are, the WBC would be forced to either strip him of his crown outright, or as in some special case, allow him to keep the title but place him on inactive status and arrange a fight for the ad interim champion.

But if Nonito would oblige to give TR one last chance to make him a fight for the defense of his WBC belt between now and September, I think it's best for him to fight a less formidable challenger like Japan's Kameda since he would not be able to focus fully on boxing in view of the projected court battle with TR

  • I would like to see him fight Daniel Ponce De Leon who lost a controversial decision

to Adrien Broner on March 5, 2011. Nonito "Flash" Donaire was actually ringside in

attendance watching that fight perhaps he might of been scouting his next opponent

a fight with Jorge "El Traveiso" Arce would be good as well however, he already beat

Vic "The Raging Bull" Darchinyan who's defeated both Jorge Arce & Cristian Mijares

with that being the case I would like to see him fight Daniel Ponce De Leon next and

on a side note Fernando "Cochulito" Montiel won his comeback fight from the loss to

Nonito Donaire. On June 25, 2011 he defeated Nehomar Cermeno by 3RD TKO that's

a good win and he was a decent opponent Cermeno defeated Cristian Mijares (twice).

who could win is corect. Nonito Donaire would get a combat with Mares yet he's a small fish. the bigger fishes are Juan Manuel Lopez and Yuriorkis Gamboa. those are great money fights. as much as I hate Arum, I would desire to confess he's a miles better promoter than Oscar De l. a. Hoya. huge mistake by utilising Donaire, i'm hoping he can nonetheless finally get some great fights decrease than GBP whether the biggest names alongside with Wilfredo Vasquez Jr, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Juan Manuel Lopez are all with suitable Rank.

Donaire is one of my favorite fighters at the moment. With that said I believe he is in trouble. These kinds of things with promoters and shuffling are what sap a fighters motivation and then you end up seeing it in the ring. Hopefully he can overcome and keep focused. I'd like to see him fight this guy moreno next he seems to be a tricky fighter who throws a lot of straight punches.

I personally think he was better in Golden Boy. I don't like Top Rank, because they don't make the best fights happen. But him vs Jorge Arce would be good.

He and Arce would be a great fight. I wouldn't mind seeing him move up and fight Guillermo Rigondeaux. Probably wouldn't be as action packed, but in terms of talent, I think Rigondeaux is a better opponent.
