  • Good card on FNF tonight, who ya got?

Mike Dallas (17-2-1) vs. Miguel Gonzalez (20-2)

Shawn Estrada (13-0) vs. Terrance Woods (9-3)

Injuries have slowed Estrada down more than any fighter he's faced thus far in his career. His pressure style has produced 12 knockouts in his 13 fights, 10 in the first round. A 2008 Olympian, 2012 should be a breakout year for this talented prospect.

The main event should be a good one. Gonzalez was a 2008 U.S. National Champion as an amateur, who got off to a rough start professionally, (6-2) but has rebounded nicely, winning 14 straight.

Dallas Jr is coming off two straight losses, but was absolutely robbed imo in his last fight w/ Mauricio Herrera.

How do you see the fights playing out?

  • Where does Demetrius Andrade go from here?

As the driver of the Demetrius Andrade bandwagon for the past couple of years, it's been frustrating seeing him in there with the sort of inferior competition he's faced. (Reminds me a bit of how slowly Andre Ward was moved up through the ranks) After tonight's destruction of Angel Hernandez, hopefully he's done with that and starts moving on to fights where his talent will be tested.

    1) What are your thoughts on Andrade, his strengths, weaknesses?

    2) Who would you like to see him take on next?

  • Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida Jan. 21st, your thoughts?

    http://www.badlefthook.com/2011/12/8/2622585/paul-...

This fight was supposed to happen last summer, but HBO pulled the plug and Williams ended up fighting Lara instead.

What are your thoughts on the fight?

Where do you see Paul Williams' career going in 2012? Can he regain what he lost?

  • Pawel Wolak retires, your thoughts?

    http://www.boxingscene.com/pawel-wolak-retires-day...

Definitely caught me off guard when I saw this earlier today. Selfishly I'm hoping he changes his mind. The sport needs guys so willing to mix it up. Wish him the best though.

  • Which rematch this weekend has you the most excited?

Great weekend of fights coming up, really about as good as I can remember in some time. A chance for retribution for both Joseph Agbeko and Miguel Cotto, as well as the rematch to arguably the fight of the year. Which fight are you most looking forward to, and how do you see the three listed below playing out?

    Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito

    Joseph Agbeko vs. Abner Mares

    Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez

  • Sergio Martinez back in action in March, who should be the opponent?

    http://www.maxboxing.com/news/promo-lead/sergio-ma...

Given the date, the fight being on St. Patrick's Day weekend, I'd imagine Andy Lee and Matthew Macklin would be the frontrunners, but Lee was rejected as an opponent for Martinez by HBO last year.

Who would you like to see Martinez face: Lee, Macklin, or someone else?

  • The single best performance by any fighter thus far in 2011 was?

I myself am a little bit partial to Sergio Martinez's destruction of Sergiy Dzinziruk back in March, but I'll concede that Dzinziruk was moving up in weight for the fight.

I'm curious to see which fighter you think had the best performance of the year. Who had you in awe?

  • Ali Funeka's finally back this weekend, where does he fit in at 140?

    http://www.boxingscene.com/ali-funeka-rush-hour-mo...

Funeka will be making his return to the ring this Saturday against Zolani Marali after a 20 month absence due partly to both a suspension, and an unpaid fine. Funeka will be fighting at junior welterweight now, which seems like a much better weight for him given his six foot frame.

Your thoughts on the fighter, as well as how you see him fitting in at 140 lbs.

  • Kirkland vs. Angulo, who ya got?

    http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Gabriel/Montoya0911c...

We've been waiting for this fight for awhile now. Really excited to hear that it's close to actually happening. Should be great for as long as it lasts.

  • Anyone taking Jan Zaveck this weekend against Berto?

Zaveck's 31-1 with 18 knockouts. He's defended his IBF title successfully three times now, and avenged the only loss on his resume.

So, anyone out there taking him on Saturday? Or is this just another HBO card where both of Al Haymon's fighters are in there against completely overmatched opponents?

  • Perro's back in action tonight, how many rounds do you see the fight lasting?

Alfredo Angulo's making his return to the ring tonight, thirteen months after his last fight, a TKO victory over Joachim Alcine. The fight will be in Angulo's hometown of Mexicali against Jospeh Gomez 17-4-1(8) Should be a large crowd supporting their hometown fighter, reports say they've already sold 21,000 tickets. Not expecting the fight to go very long, Gomez has lost three of his last four, two of those by knockout.

If you're interested in checking it out, the broadcast begins at 11p.m. on ESPN Deportes, which sadly I do not get. Hopefully they'll be a stream somewhere.

Any chance Gomez lasts the full 12? If not, in which round does he fall?

  • Where does Demetrius Andrade fit in at 154?

Andrade completely outclassed Grady Brewer tonight, and looks to have a very bright future ahead of him. Jr. Middleweight is loaded however, and navigating his way through the division could prove a bit problematic. He seems to my eye to be a bit one handed, I'm not sure anyone should be scared of his left. Nevertheless, he's probably the best athlete in the division, and you saw tonight just how easily he can control a fight with his jab and movement. How do you see him stacking up with the other contenders?

  • Friday Night Fights tonight, who ya got?

Sadly this is the last FNF card of the year, as ESPN2 will be airing college football in its place. But they sure are going out with a bang. A terrific card, hopefully both turn out to be great fights.

Demetrius Andrade (13-0) vs. Grady Brewer (28-12)

David Diaz (36-3-1) vs. Henry Lundy (20-1)

Gotta say, I think I'm taking the youngsters tonight, Andrade especially. If he can stay focused for ten rounds. He's quite a talent.

So who do you like in each fight? Does Diaz still have any gas left in the tank? Can Grady Brewer pull off yet another huge upset? Looking forward to finding out.

  • More lopsided matchup, Juanma Lopez vs Mike Oliver, or Sergio Martinez vs Darren Barker?

Just recently heard that Juanma Lopez will be returning to the ring again on October 1st. He's coming off a knockout loss back in April to Orlando Salido, and has apparently decided to face as overmatched an opponent as Top Rank could find him in order to regain his confidence. Not only does Oliver lack power, his last three opponents have a combined 48 losses.

Also in action on that night, pound for pound great Sergio Martinez. Martinez is arguably one of the three best fighters in the sport, and unless I'm missing something, Darren Barker's not quite in that league. Considering how HBO rejected Martinez's proposed bout with Sebastian Zbik last December, why they approved this is beyond me. Barker's a 26-1 underdog.

I apologize for the anger, it's just fights like this frustrate me. Guess it's time to open it up to the forum though, which October 1st fight in your opinion is the more lopsided matchup?

  • Yet another undefeated prospect goes down, your thoughts?

2011 continues to be a bad year for undefeated prospects, and tonight it was Teon Kennedy who feels the sting of his first professional loss.

The Philadelphia born Kennedy, (17-0-1) was outboxed from the opening bell by Alejandro Lopez, losing a unanimous decision. Lopez circled to Kennedy's left throughout the fight, and Kennedy seemed more than willing to just follow, unable to cut off the ring and slow Lopez down.

    Anyone see the fight?

What are your thoughts on the growing list of undefeated prospects losing this year?

  • How did you score the Cintron fight?

I was expecting the scorecards to be a little closer than they ended up being. Cintron outworked him, but wasn't sitting down on anything he threw from the outside, especially his right hand. I scored it in favor of Kermit, but was a little surprised by how wide it was when the scorecards were announced.

How did you see the fight play out? How'd you score it?

  • Teon Kennedy's fighting Alejandro Lopez tomorrow night, Who ya got?

Don't know too much about Lopez, hoping someone can clue me in on him, but I circle my calendar whenever Kennedy's fighting. One of my favorite prospects in the sport, happy to see him getting a showcase like this tomorrow night.

How do you see the fight playing out, and who would you like to see the winner face next?

  • Friday Nights Fights tonight, who ya got?

Vernon Paris (24-0) vs. Tim Coleman (19-1-1)

Cristobal Cruz (39-12-2) vs. Art Hovhannesyan (14-0-1)

Looking forward to the undercard tonight. Hovhannesyan is a pressure fighter who loves to go to the body. Cruz despite his record is no pushover, former IBF featherweight champion with wins over Jorge Solis and Orlando Salido. But he's moving all the way up to lightweight. Should still be very interesting.

How do you see the fights going tonight?
