Have you heard Fuglyblog is ending?! What did you learn?

Noooooooooo! It's my favorite horse blog EVER and the writer says she just doesn't have enough time! I seriously think I might cry.

What did you learn from her, that you didn't know before?

I learned:

-Always cap your T-posts, because horses can and DO impale themselves.

-There are low-cost gelding and euthanasia clinics out there to prevent over-population and give horses a better death than slaughter!

-Test any QH or grade stock-type horse for HYPP, especially if they have Impressive breeding, because HYPP has KILLED people when horses go into seizures under their riders.

-Tenesse Walking Horses are often abusively "sored" and have huge pads and chains put on their feet before many of the big TWH shows, to make their gaits artificially bigger.

-Training is the MOST important way to ensure your horse will always be safe-- if something happens to you AND your will/money, at least the horse has skills to save it from slaughter.

What did YOU learn that you didn't know before?

Update:

EDIT: Gallop, she DID change the world. She personally rescued many horses (paying for their care out of her own pocket), assisted in outing and prosecuting horse abusers even when law enforcement was lax, personally worked on large-scale neglect seizures, promoted responsible breeding, showcased and supported great rescues and their horses, fund-raised for rescue groups and helped people like me find reputable trainers, stolen horses and better horse health solutions. Every blog of hers that I ever read had substance, and she didn't make accusations lightly. 95% of the accusations she made were backed up by photo or video evidence that she posted directly to the blog, the other 5% being backed up by eyewitnesses. Was she harsh sometimes? Absolutely. But in my book, it's OKAY to call horse abusers assholes. If you were thin-skinned enough to be offended, I'm glad you stopped reading-- but don't attempt to dismiss the good she did because you don't like naughty words and mean "gossip" t

I think Fugly did a lot of amazing things. Unfortunately I learned about the t-post thing first hand at a crap barn I was working at. She did a great job of supporting rescues, rescuing horses herself and helping to shutdown horse rescues that were nothing but scams. People kept reading because she entertained them at the same time she taught people things so they didn't make the same mistakes others have.

With abuse a lot of times nothing is done until there is some media presence and for a lot of cases fugly provided that. I agree she could be a bit harsh, but the bad language doesn't offend me. I'm not a big swearer, but I can say I had a few choice words leak out when I read the story about Tullie. I've included the link that fugly had to the story and it is not for the queasy. Fugly did a lot to raise money for the horse and the rescue that took her in.

I'm not saying I agree with everything she said or did, and I agree a lot of what she did was support the people in the trenches who are face to face with abuse issues. It is a shame though to lose someone who was so good at getting the word out to shame local law enforcement into action, raising money, supporting the good rescues and pointing out the bad.

I hope it is a short hiatus.

And for the catering facet, those immigrants do cater to us, among the persons operating in production, landscaping, eating places (busboys and so forth) and farming are immigrants they receives a commission minimal salary for those jobs and in a lot of these peoples salaries taxes are taken out by way of their employers, but they get no kind of reinbursement just like the leisure people, I imply c'mon what "American" is inclined to head prefer peppers for 25 cents a bushel, and their hard work is what's really the fee down in those industries so the leisure people can have enough money it. And for the list I don't condone unlawful immigration, topic of reality, I'm kinda annoyed on the pressure those persons are striking at the social offerings approach, however, dammit I supply credit score in which credit score's due.
