Babysitting for other people?

Hey, I am a 14 year old babysitter too. You will need experience no one will hire you with out experience. Try volunteering at your local church nursery to get experience. Also babysit for family members first.

um, honey if your mom won't help then she most likely doesn't feel you are old enough to do this.

I would never let a stranger babysit my children. Esp. if I spoke to the 14yr olds mom and the mom didn't seem interested or supportive.

Also a lot of moms I know with younger kids want babysitters ages 16 & up. Plus these are people they have known for years.

A start is to take a Red Cross babysitting class. But if your mom won't help you out I don't know how you'd get there or pay for it.

I usually get jobs to babysit through my parents' coworkers. If they ever have people over, ask if they need anyone to babysit for them. That's usually how I go about doing it. Sometimes you get rejected, but just keep asking around.

Ask mom if there are any local moms groups online. If someone knows of one, they can share your availability/interest. You can also ask if there are any moms groups at your local library, or other community places like that. Good luck!

Put an ad in the newspaper is the only way I can think of.
