Buying a PC Monitor vs a HDTV?
I will be needing to buy a new TV in the near future and I was wondering if there is any benefit to buying a PC monitor over a LCD/Plasma/LED TV... The only thing I would have plugged into it is an Xbox 360, which would be able to use an HDMI port, PC monitors don't have speakers so audio would be an issue. So my question is would it be more cost effective to buy a TV or a Monitor? Also, I would want it to be 32"+, I don't even know if they make monitors that size.
As a side note, I am also toying with the idea of going from a laptop to a desktop, so that is another reason why I was trying to find the benefits of a TV vs Monitor. So on the Desktop PC side, would it benefit me to have TV over a Monitor?

HDMI PC monitors are ideal for PCs. They don't have speakers, but, most TV and monitor speakers are absolutely mediocre.
TVs doesn't always use square pixels, and, most of them don't even report the correct resolution, thus, if you plug a PC, movies look good, text and web pages looks horrendous.
Another thing to consider is that a 32" TV at 4 feet away looks probably as large as a 21" monitor at 1 feet away.

I personally would go for the TV (LED with FULL HD) with HDMI inputs. Monitors are better if you were working a lot with documents.

the tv is more adaptable, with lots of connections. but if it s larger than 32 inch, it will be hard to use with the computer ,you need THE distance. if not you will have headaches that will drive you mad,you will see flashes when closing your eyes. trust me.
