Should I send in my ACT & SAT, or just the better of the 2?

I got a 35 on the ACT, with a 10 (out of 12) on the essay section. But on the SAT, I didn't get exactly what I was hoping for: 670 Reading, 760 Math, 680 Writing.

A 1430 on the 1600 scale isn't exactly great, although I will say that Ivy League schools that require astronomical SATs are way out of my reach anyway. For a school like UT Austin, is a 35 good enough? Should I go ahead and send my SAT along with my ACT, or should I hide my lesser score and waive my ACT score around when applying for college the rest of this year? Will sending my SAT hurt me, or will college admissions just look at the better of the two anyway?

Update:

35/36/32/36/33 (English/Math/Reading/Science/ Combined English & Writing)

I'll probably be going for an engineering or CS major if that's important. I know the Engineering department at UT looks at the ALEKS and the math part of the SAT, but I'm not sure what other colleges look at.

That ACT is smoking, any school would be impressed!! SAT is good too. Did you get a 36 on the Math?

I don't know you could take the SAT again, some elite schools like to see upper 700's on all.

I'm not sure how they feel about the writing.

Well I got accepted everywhere I applied except Harvey Mudd.

    ACT 30 (27 english, 36 math, 24 Reading, 33 Science, 26 Combine E&W, 8 of 12 essay)

Math SAT was 800 CR was only 600 Writing bad 560

GPA was 3.97 unweighed IB classes

I'm going for Computer Engineering starting in the Fall

WOW u guys are freakin smart! I have heard from most viable sources that u only have to send one of the 2 so i would just submit the ACT. With a 35 and good GPA u should get in pretty much anywhere though. Congrats!

Source(s): High School Senior going through this crap too... 1910 on SAT and 26 on ACT(no studying) :(

It matters what the college will want. Some colleges just want your SAT score and don't take ACT scores, or they take all the test you've taken. It's however the college decides to do things. You'll see when you have to send them through college board.
