Yes. Bush put in place a plan for new spacecraft to replace the shuttle program, but Obama canceled it in favor of entitlement spending. Now the Russians have the only manned access to space. Liberals don't believe in American exceptionalism.
So now we have more food stamps instead of space flight.

once you evaluate that the now retired holiday device became designed interior the 1960's, and lasted until this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, it became long late for retirement. evaluate that Nixon dropped the Saturn V launch device in desire of a low earth orbit device that by no ability totally further on the ensures made by employing the contractors that geared up it. And the mess ups on the subject rely of the defective launch boosters and problematical insulation tile device made the getting older shuttles an twist of destiny waiting to take place persistently. Bush had to construct a sparkling heavy launch rocket device that would have made some aerospace contractors greater advantageous than happy, yet that device became scrubbed by employing the Obama White abode in desire of a greater funds friendly recycling application that would hire the final of the holiday engines and redesigned sturdy rocket booster structures for the 1st dozen or so launches. If something, Obama gets us back to the Moon quicker than Bush's empty promise that we could circulate to Mars by employing 2020. And thank a teabagger for reducing the funds much greater! we would be fortunate to have a presence in area in any respect in the event that they get their way.

No, it was the Republicans who planned to end it by the formation of the Constellation Program and also NASA was already in trouble in congress because of congress' failure to give complete funding for NASA. The rest of the money that was supposed to go to Constellation is going to funding for climate science research through satellites and deep space exploration. Why are we holding ourselves in exploring the far edges of the universe. Secondly, what a joke the privatization of NASA will be a disaster. We privatized the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and how did they go- Disaster. Well Obama is making a big risk with this and also I got to say America going to Mars and an asteroid is much more of scientific breakthrough than China going to the moon which we already went. Who will win when it comes to deep space exploration- America. I love NASA and it has inspired me to study science.

NASA already has a new space shuttle. They will probably use this when it is ready.

No. That goes back a long way. But Obama isn't helping by telling NASA to make Muslim outreach a focus.

My state just lost some jobs. Better keep one in storage ready to go when a rescue mission to the ISS is needed and Russians cant handle it. We just took them food for a year. Hope those guys don't starve after that.

no its time to close down NASA. the only way Space will evolve is to let private companies do the work
NASA has become sort of a Welfare program for Scientists, it would be different if they had a clear goal, but they do not, they are just bureaucratic pencil pushers collecting fat paychecks

No because the decision to cancel the Shuttle was made years back by Bush. Bush's plan was to end the shuttle flights so that there would be more money for the Constellation project.
I'm a liberal and I thought that was the right decision.
