How much weight can I be expected to gain from starting birth control?
I will be starting the birth control pill Tri-Sprintec, the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen this Sunday. I've never taken any birth control before. I'm 16 years old, a little under 5'1", and slightly chubby at 125. Can I be expected to gain a lot of weight, like over 10 pounds? I'm going to clean up my diet and try to exercise; will this offset the effects since my diet is poor and I don't exercise currently?

From my experience I didn't gain any, or lose any, it's different for anyone. But I was told it never usually makes you put on more than about 8 pounds, so it won't be entirely difficult to lose, but be optimistic might not make you gain any.

You shouldn't gain over 10 pounds and that's pushing it. Most people gain around 5 pounds. And you sound like the perfect weight for your weight. I wouldn't worry about it.
