what kind of fish is this?

We found this fish in a freshwater creek...it is a juvenile with orange and black stripes and some tan as well. It has a clear tail and one top fin at the start of the tail and its side fin is clear and points upward. Any guesses?

Without seeing a picture, I would have to agree with yellow perch. I can't really think of another common freshwater fish that's orange with black stripes.

With the horrible description you've given, no guess at all.

"It has a clear tail and one top fin at the start of the tail and its side fin is clear and points upward." What is that?
