Should I go directly into pharmacy?

I'm a high school junior and I want to be a pharmacist. I may have the option of going to a 0 - 6 school (if I apply and get accepted), but I am afraid that I won't like the profession or the classes once I enter and I will be stuck for 6 years, or have wasted a year of school.

I'm interested in political science, business, economics, mathematics, biology, pharmacy, education, linguistics ... I think pharmacy is a good option out of all of those and right now I enjoy my science science classes a lot, but I haven't got much experience or anyone to really talk to about the profession. Biology and mathematics could be other potential options to consider.

I've considered taking it at a graduate school, but that'd mean more school and more money. I'd be hard pressed to pay for the money for six years of school, much less undergrad + grad.

This is one reason 2/3 to 3/4 of PharmD matriculated students have a Bachelor's degree.

The 0-6 programs are not particularly popular, partly because they restrict options at a very early stage.

    I wouldn't.

Go to a 4 year college and get your B.S in Pre Med / Pre Pharm and take Bio,Chem,Physics,Math credits. Take the PCATS and enroll into Med School.

    Before you do anything though:

    1.Talk with guidance counselor

2.Visit Pharm med schools websites and see exactly what courses you need.

    Good luck!
