  • Does acceleration constantly add speed?

I'm trying to teach myself physics and I'm having a tough time with acceleration.

If I take the velocity of an object falling (say, one second, two seconds and three seconds) would the three velocities be different? Also, what if I throw a ball upwards? Would ball decelerate on the way up and accelerate on the way down because of gravity?

What if I wanted to draw a free-body diagram of a ball thrown upwards at an angle? I know there is a velocity applied once I throw the ball, would that velocity stay the same while the ball is being thrown? That is, if I throw the ball at 30º at 5m/s, would the ball always have a velocity of 5m/s at 30º which would then be added with the force of gravity?

    Thank you for your help.

  • What would happen if Mitt & Ann Romney gave away all their money?

Newsweek estimates they both own $265 million dollars. With America having around 300,000,000 people, I would think that each person should get 85¢ (with the government getting the 1/3 cent from everyone as a sort of a "tax").

However, I was thinking about this, and though, well, given the way the taxes worked, we should have it be bracketed and, of course, only give it to those actually filling out tax returns. So, that means, even if someone filed jointly with someone, they'll get treated as one person. Make sense? This means that each person (well, technically, each return) in the US should get $1.96, but let's say $2.

People making less than $50,000 a year would get $2.50 (it's fair, they need more help, but not too much, then they'll be mooching). So, since around 95 million are in this bracket, we're left with $27.5 million dollars.

To compensate for this, people making between $50k and $1 million a year would get... I dunno, let's say 50¢. We have to make the money somewhere, right? With 38 million Americans here, I think, that means we're left with around $1.44 million.

The rich, since they are the last, should get it evenly split up amongst them. With about 155,000 people making over $1 million a year.... that means they should get $9! They need the most money because they create jobs.

I think this would be the fairest way to distribute this money. Eventually, those nine dollars *may* work their way down to the lower classes. Who agrees with me?

I can see now why we use the same idea for our taxes!

  • How much does a bicycle cost? How can I learn to ride and where can I learn biking rules?

I moved and need to bike to school. It's just two days a week but is about two/three miles one way. I tried walking today and it took about an hour. With a bike it should hopefully be a lot faster.

There isn't a lot of terrain. Just two smooth gradients that ride next to streets. But I need to know where I can find a bike that will suit my needs. Ideally I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it (as in, I don't want a very rigorous bike). I don't anticipate using it very frequently, just when I need to get somewhere fast(er).

I also would like to know how I can learn to ride (I'm 16 and have never ridden before) and where I can learn rules for road safety & how to use bike lanes properly.

    Thank you!

  • Why do so many Right-wingers think that what the Founding Fathers were Christians?

Hate to break it to ya, GOP, they weren't!

But why do they think that? Is it because they need a reason to bring in faith into the public? Last time faith and politics were together, you had Anne Hutchinson run off to make her own colony. Also why is it that these people claim the Constitution is a totally sacred document? Don't they know the Constitution allows for NO specific religion in politics?

And even if they were Christian what difference would it make???

And since these same people are crazy about the Constitution, why is it they complain every time we take down a Christmas monument in accordance with the Constitution?? SORRY for following your idea in the first place!

  • Why does the Right just tell the unemployed to just get a job?

In their minds, 25 million unemployed people just means 25 million lazy people. It's as if Right-wingers all have access to a magical job land where jobs just grow on trees!

  • Why do people vote for GOP if the GOP doesn't care about them?

We all know they just line the pockets of their businesses and the businesses of their friends... Why do people continually vote for them if the Democrats will stand up for their rights and interests??

  • If Christians are so concerned with politicizing morality, why do they focus on gay marriage?

Why don't they focus on child hunger instead?

Why do they try to politicize against marriage when so many go hungry?

  • Would this get rid of Samara Morgan from The Ring?

You know how in The Ring Samara crawls out of the TV?

What if you went on top of a high rise and then point the TV over the roof? So like, when she crawls out, she falls down like 20 stories.

    Would that work?

  • How can I stay awake in class?

I sleep for about 8 hours a day and I wake up rested, however, in class, I get very tired.

I notice it is usually after about one to one and a half hours that I start getting tired. I need to get up and walk around. Walking around helps keep me awake. For instance, if I go get water, I will be able to focus.

During tests I am able to go through the entire test without a yawn, but once I am done I get sleepy. Once I go to break, I am not tired anymore. I will enter the class fresh after a passing period.

  • Should I go directly into pharmacy?

I'm a high school junior and I want to be a pharmacist. I may have the option of going to a 0 - 6 school (if I apply and get accepted), but I am afraid that I won't like the profession or the classes once I enter and I will be stuck for 6 years, or have wasted a year of school.

I'm interested in political science, business, economics, mathematics, biology, pharmacy, education, linguistics ... I think pharmacy is a good option out of all of those and right now I enjoy my science science classes a lot, but I haven't got much experience or anyone to really talk to about the profession. Biology and mathematics could be other potential options to consider.

I've considered taking it at a graduate school, but that'd mean more school and more money. I'd be hard pressed to pay for the money for six years of school, much less undergrad + grad.

    Should I go into a 0 - 6 pharmacy school?

  • What happens if I ate rotten milk?

I was eating cereal and it tasted a bit weird but I thought nothing of it until I smelled the milk gallon and tried some milk. It was so disgusting! BUT the problem is I ate about 1 cup of this milk with my cereal. What should I do?

However it was mixed with good milk so it was about 1/4 - 1/2 of the milk... So I'd say 1/4 to 1/2 cup of rotten milk.
