Do you know why Fox News is banned in Canada?
Because it lies!!
Now, my question goes out to all the Faux News viewers round these parts:
WHY do you watch it if they LIE?
Brian B: SORRY! I should have known Right-wingers have trouble with the English language. For all you out there who don't know what I mean by "to lie," here you go:
lie 2 |laɪ|
noun
an intentionally false statement: Mungo felt a pang of shame at telling Alice a lie | the whole thing is a pack of lies .
• used with reference to a situation involving deception or founded on a mistaken impression: all their married life she had been living a lie .
verb ( lies , lying |ˈlī-iNG|, lied ) [ no obj. ]
tell a lie or lies: why had Wesley lied about his visit to Philadelphia? | [ with direct speech ] : “I am sixty-five,” she lied.
• (lie one's way into/out of) get oneself into or out of a situation by lying: you lied your way on to this voyage by implying you were an experienced sailor.
• (of a thing) present a false impression; be deceptive: the camera cannot lie.
PHRASES
give the lie to serve to show that (something seemingly apparent or previously stated or believed) is not

It is not banned in Canada. I can tune in anytime I want, and I don't want to, ever.

LOL. Yes... I know what a lie is.
Like for example, when someone says that Fox News is banned in Canada. I know that is a lie because I get Fox and I live in Canada. Within seconds anyone can look up the channel lists of any Canadian cable or satellite provider and can see that various Fox channels (including Fox News) on on their listings.
Let's see... Shaw Cable System has five Fox channels -- including Seattle (15), Rochester (83), Fox News (143), and HD versions of Seattle (203) and Rochester (208).
So... you are clearly lying when you stated that Fox News is banned in Canada.
The source of this nonsense comes from some rather silly reporting by various US news agencies. There is an old CRTC (Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Committee) law which dates back to the 1960s which states that you can't lie on the news broadcast on public *airwaves*. At that time, there were only three main Canadian networks and the government owned station (CBC) was the main source of news. The law was enacted to keep the CBC independent of government and prevent politicians from trying to use the nationally owned TV station for political purposes. Today... that law is meaningless as 95% of Canadians get TV via cable or satellite (which the law doesn't cover) and it has been thirty years since the CBC news was the only major news channel. A few years back the government moved to scrap the law. Fox (nor any other US network) has never applied for a license to broadcast using Canadian TV frequencies, nor would any of them as 95%+ of Canadians don't use antennas nor would they watch US news anyway. The law has never been applied to Fox nor has any government agency needed to rule that Fox lies. They haven't ruled than CNN or PBS news lies either.
While I do think that Fox lies and spins stuff, it is not banned here. I can watch it any time I wish. I don't watch Fox news because I have little interest in US news. In Canada, even CNN is ranked around #5 after the CBC, BBC, CTV, and various local stations.

Except, of course, this isn't true.
I'm no fan of Fox News, but it can be seen in Canada. What you may have heard was that it was originally rejected, as a combination US/Canadian News outlet. However, since that was not the plan, it was approved.
Fox News Channel is currently offered by Access Communications, Bell TV, Cogeco, Eastlink, Manitoba Telecom Services, Rogers, SaskTel, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct and Telus TV.

Television is merely educational if you are watching a documentary or something similar

Fox News is not banned in Canada.
Source(s): I live in Canada and could watch Fox News on my TV if I wanted to. I don't, but I could. - whoyeahLv 79 years ago
But they claim the whole country of Canada is wrong.
Seems like a weak claim, and think, "who needs them anyway their socialists."

Is it really a lie when it reaffirms your pre-exsisting assumptions about yourself and others?

Wow is it really? That's interesting. I never knew that.
