If Christians are so concerned with politicizing morality, why do they focus on gay marriage?

Because religion gives you a warped sense of morality.

You are more concerned about what people do with their penis than about the actual poor. Religious people in-general (this includes Muslims), are just waiting for some sort of "abomination" (usually involving sex) - so that they can be offended. It is so obsessed with sex and things that it considers "sexually devious."

Its kind of a fetish for being offended by things.

Most Republicans aren’t really Christians. A true Christian is one who tries to live a Christ-like life. And the first order of business in that regard would be TRUTH, something that alludes most right-wingers these days. Second would be a deep concern for feeding the hungry and sheltering the poor, which today’s righties don’t give a rip about.

The clearest social prohibition in the NT is the direction for man to not set aside what God has joined together. It is clear and unequivocal.

Yet the fundies rail against gays, but not the divorced. Let me guess - 50% of their donations come from divorced old men shacking up with the new, young cutie, in direct violation of Christ's words.

Because then that would mean that maybe, just maybe, there might be something wrong with the free market and it's not actually "God's will" every time someone get's poor or rich. And then their identity would crumble. Instead, let's focus on gay marriage. That'll legitimize everything for sure dudes.
