You cant actually increase your net speed by any means. It depends on the ISP. But you can apply some tweaks with Mozilla firefox to speed up your net.
Now what I want you to do is open a new window in Firefox and in the address bar type in without quotes, “ about:config ”
A message should appear saying something along the lines of are you sure you want to go inside. Just click, Ill be careful, I promise!
Once you’ve clicked the button you should see a page filled with lots of lines of text. Don’t get scared! I will guide you through what you have to do.
This page is where you can change features in your Firefox browser. You can customize almost every little in Mozilla here in the about:config.
The tweaks I am going to show you will change the way Firefox uses your Internet connection. It will change little things in the way Firefox receives or sends information. Hopefully, with these tweaks your browser will be much faster.
I am going to tell you what you should type into the search box on this page, and what you have to change.
Lets start:
Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This will change how many requests your browser will make. You can change this number a little lower if you’d like.
Now, right click anywhere on this page and hover over New and then click on Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it as a value of 0 (zero). This sets the amount of time your browser will wait before it acts on the info it receives.
The next thing we are going to do is to stop Firefox from leaking memory.
Right click anywhere and hover over New and then click on Boolean. Name it config.trim_on_minimize and set it as True.
For all these changes to take effect you must restart Firefox.

GPRS connection speed (throughput) is controlled solely by the mobile network operator. You, as an end user can not control or adjust it. GPRS is unlike the dial-up counterpart in landline service where you can boost your connection. In the landline connection, you are physically connected using the network of cables to connect yourself to the operator. In GPRS, your wireless connection speed has something to do with: 1) your location (such as how far are you from the nearest cell site of your mobile network operator 2) how much bandwidth does your operator all its subscribers to access the net. 3) up to how much throughput is your account allowed to use at any given time? So unless you graduate to a 3G phone (which is designed to accommodate high speed data) or you clarify with your mobile network operator, up to how much throughput are you requi red to use?
