Why are houses made of Wood in Australia & US but Bricks in India and China?

Per capita availability of natural forest trees are abundant in US & Australia, as the population there are very less comparing India & China. So naturally India & China need to find alternative to protect forest reserve to keep environment green. So they Indians & Chinese have invented bricks.

Price!!! Im building a house in Mexico. Its the first house I have ever built so im learning a lot. But let me tell you from my experience. Building out of brick and cement is a lot more expensive and difficult than wood. If built right, a brick house can last for centuries. A brick house can have all the look of a wood house too. Which is what most american like and are used to. The cost though, is greater for the bricks. Brick houses are still build in the US, but not too often.

Types and availability of wood.

Brick and Bamboo are stronger and more readily available in India and China.

Modern Australia was settled by Europeans already used to working with wood so they would not have had generations to establish a different building style.

The Australians and the Americans have obviously never heard of the story of the “Three Little Pigs”.
