I received a Costco gift card as a birthday gift but I do not have a membership there....?

I received a Costco gift card as a birthday gift but I do not have a membership there does anyone know if I can use it with getting a membership there?

Update:

I don't want to buy beer or wine I am a epileptic that would stupid of course you didn't know that.I just want to know if I can use it without getting a Costco membership.

    In some states they are required to sell you alcohol even if you don't have a membership.

    It probably varies from state to state depending on state laws. If you can't use it without buying a membership, you may be able to sell the gift card to one of the companies that buys gift cards.
