Sueing the company simplyelectronics.net?

Simplyelectronics.net have one of the lowest prices on the net for electronics but yet, their customer service is AWFUL and they have a bad record of customer satisfaction. Please search 'simply electronics problems' on Google and you will see the amount of complaining customers who suffered in their hands. It's a nightmare but Google continues to advertise them. I found them through Google.

I ordered a £100 camera from them. I checked the status after 4 days and the status hadn't been changed to dispatched like other companies would. Then after a week my order was removed, then I contacted them and they replied me saying my order had been damaged on the way. I replied saying I wasn't notified of this but I had to contact you first. They said I could choose something else. I was angry and demanded a refund because I didn't want to go through their service again. Now I demanded a refund last week and up till now haven't received it. It's a tyranny. I only new about their services after I ordered because I needed the camera for my birthday. But I wasn't able to get it by then despite allowing a week of delivery.

I dont want any more customers to suffer in their hands.

They are a Hong Kong company but deal under UK domain and are advertised on Google search. Their customer service replies take weeks to reply, their service is just awful. They claim goods are in stock when they aren't, apparently their goods do not have a CE mark and are shipped or manufactured in China. It's just bad.

I know I am 17 years old but can I sue them? How?

Please reply, thanks.

Update:

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm not sure how you can sue them. Suing is... expensive (against a company) and complicated. It's too bad that you didn't know that they were such a terrible company and that you had to experience this. Maybe just keep contacting them and bothering them to give you a monetary refund or the camera or another camera of equal value. Just keep on bugging them everyday and they might get fed up. Or send them letters threatening to sue... File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Or tell your credit card company/bank about what happened.

If by a Google search, everyone hates them... then they are just scammers. There's not much you can do if several people all over the world were scammed, too.

If you want to sue them you would have to do it in Hong Kong. And you probably can't because you are only 17 years old.

Sometimes you have to accept that getting even will cost more than you will ever get back from the villains - tough!

Dispute the charge with your credit card company and let them do the suing for you.

I am not sure if you have something like the Better Business Bureau in the UK, but I would file a complaint with them in the US if it happened here.

Sue them for WHAT? Bad customer service? Waaaaaaaah. Next time deal with a legit seller and you won't have this problem. See what happens when you're cheap?
