pros- reduced risk of various cancers and other preventable diseases such as diabetes. Typically a reduced saturated fat intake (unless you choose to live off junk food) which influences cholesterol levels, which in turn influences cardiovascular disease. There is NO CHANCE you will have insufficient protein unless your diet is too low in caloric intake. Ignore ANYBODY who says protein is an issue for vegetarians, protein is only an issue for anorexics.
cons- limited availability of certain nutrients means that intake should be monitored, such as iron. Some forms of other nutrients, such as long chain omega 3 fatty acids are in limited supply unless you can find a suitable source to supplement them. Short chain n3 which is abundant in plant foods (flax and hemp seeds in particular) is converted to longer chain n3 acids EPA (used in the cardiovascualr system) and DHA (used in the brain) but there are questions as to whether the conversion rate is sufficient. Until the science is clear, it can't hurt to supplement the diet with algae oil which provides the long chain acids (it's where fishes get theirs from, which is why so many think you need to take fish oil).

No, it isn't, by way of definition. A bigger phrase to make use of could be 'pescetarian' That doesn't suggest it is dangerous regardless that. I simply do not love it while persons who consume fish say they are vegetarians, on account that they're the purpose why in eating places I consistently have got to provide an explanation for precisely what I imply while I say I am a vegetarian to hinder getting served fish. As for what the factor is: the factor is your buddy's factor. You do not must see the factor, so long as he does. But there are factors why persons prefer to be a pescetarian. For example well being factors: being a pescetarian lowers your danger of demise of a center sickness simply up to being a vegetarian does. Or ethical factors: many persons believe a fish's frightened method is special from that of a mammal or chook and that the fish does not fairly undergo. That notion is fake incidentally.

As long as you eat a balanced diet that includes vegetables, fats, proteins, carbohydrates and various vitamins then being a vegetarian is neither here nor there. It is nothing to worry about - I was a vegetarian for 20 years and did not obsess about my food intake and am still fine.

It's healthier if you do it properly, it's more ecologically sustainable, it's cheaper if you know what you're doing.
About the only drawbacks are that you do have to educate yourself as to what to eat and change your mindset somewhat and it can be chancy eating out, though a lot of restaurants are offering vegetarian options these days.

Don't listen to "pretty girl rock" you won't die quicker if you eat meat.
It's not healthy to be a vegetarian, you can have a lack of protein, which is really unhealthy. Think about it this way, we humans were intended to eat meat, it's part of our nature, we need it to live. If humans weren't intended to eat mean we wouldn't have canine teeth, we wouldn't be predators. It's not the way we were designed, and if we were designed a certain way than that's the way were supposed to be.
