Can I take any Legal Action to the police not responding to a drive by shooting?
There was a drive by and about eight to ten shots were fired. Non hit the house but there were bullet holes in a couple of our trees right in my front yard and by my front door. My neighbor witnessed the shots coming out of the car towards both houses. I called 911 and reported that I was home with two small children and that someone is shooting at my house. I let them talk to my neighbor who gave her account of the whole thing. I waited and waited no one ever showed up. I called them the next day and asked for someone to come out and check on a suspicious car that looked like the shooters car was sitting in front of my house across the street. An officer came and told me that it is not illegal to shoot in my town. I asked him Is it legal to shoot where the shooter shot and toward my house. He repeated what he said the first time. I then said you didn't answer is it legal to shoot where they shot towards the houses. He said yes it is illegal. I asked him to look at the bullet holes and to take a report and he said no they don't do that. ( Are you f....... kidding me) I filed a complaint but now have been followed by the same undercover officer a few times. What can I do legally?

Call the police station again, explain the situation, and make sure it's recorded. Get photos of the damage, a written statement from your undercover cop as well as your neighbor, and your undercover cop's NAME and BADGE NUMBER. Be persistent, make sure someone (a couple of someones actually) are with you when you talk to the cop, because they're not trustworthy if you're alone.

In no state is it legal to fire a weapon from a car!!! I would contact the county sheriff, after that the state police, after that your state congress man. If you dont mind I would love to get more info due to the fact of you may have a case to sue law enforcement. sheltonjr.virgil@ymail.com
