What's better? South Lake Tahoe o regular Lake Tahoe?

People usually talk about going to the north of the lake (North Lake) or the south (South Lake). South Lake Tahoe is also the name of a town near the lake. Truckee and King's Beach are towns in what people refer to as North Lake.

South Lake Tahoe is more developed and has more casinos and that sort of thing. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, it all depends on what you are going to do.

Lake Tahoe is a lake. A pretty large one. The name Lake Tahoe describes the whole lake. South Lake Tahoe is a city in California. It borders Lake Tahoe. You can't really compare them because they're two completely different things. Can you get to Lake Tahoe from South Lake Tahoe? Yes. Jump in. Can you get back out? Only you know the answer to that. If you are unsure, don't jump in.

south lake tahoe is lake tahoe. it is just a town on the southern end of lake tahoe. lake tahoe is the name of the full lake.

south lake tahoe is on the south east corner of the lake on the california/nevada border.

i prefer tahoe city and truckee in the northern part of the lake personally. South Lake Tahoe is nice if you like an active night life. it is very busy, lots of people.

the whole entire lake tahoe is 22 miles long and 12 miles wide. in the summer you can drive around it in about 1 1/2.
