There are a number of reasons for this. First, are you using the 64-bit version of IE 9? If you are, then don't - the Yahoo! Toolbar does NOT work with the 64-bit IE 9. Use the 32-bit version of IE 9. This should be the default anyway.

If you are sure you are using the 32-bit IE 9, right click to bring up the list of toolbars and turn them ALL off. Close and restart your browser. Right click on an unused area of the toolbar to get the list of toolbars again and select ONLY the Yahoo! Toolbar. If it doesn't show up when it is the ONLY toolbar selected, then go to the Yahoo! Toolbar page and download/install it again. The Yahoo! Toolbar download page is http://toolbar.yahoo.com/

If that works, turn your other toolbars on again using the same right click technique. If your Yahoo! toolbar disappears after turning on your other toolbars, you may have a problem with one of the OTHER toolbars interfering with Yahoo!. In that case, turn all of the toolbars off again and then add them one by one until you find the one that makes your Yahoo! Toolbar disappear. Uninstall and reinstall that toolbar to try to clear the problem. I have seen this happen with Norton/Symantec toolbars - they somehow scramble the toolbar information. When I was running Noton software, I'd uncheck the Yahoo! Toolbar and that would turn off the Norton toolbar - I'd click the Yahoo! Toolbar and that would turn off the Norton toolbar. In my case, Norton was the problem. MY solution was to remove ALL Norton/Symantec software from my system and find alternatives - this was one of the best decisions I ever made and I've had a stable PC ever since!

    Good luck,
