Help with flying! (for cheerleading!)?
Hey!
I do both competitive & school cheerleading! My competitive coaches have been wanting me to fly because of my size. (5'0 & 100lbs) I always just say maybe next year and stuff. Now that I'm a freshman cheerleader, my school cheer coach have me as a flyer. I've gone up in a prep a couple times at practice this past week but it's always shaky & I like basically fall into the cradle position. Like its not smooth at all. I've been doing cheerleading since I was 4 but I've never done flying. I'm not sure if I'm doing everything right. What should I be doing in the air when we go to extension & when I cradle? Sorry if this is confusing. Thank you, (:
thank you guys! (: but what do i do when i cradle?

You shaking sounds like you're scared. you can't be if you're going to be a flier. you have to trust your bases to catch you no matter what happens. When going up, just "sponge". that will make it smoother on you and your bases when going up. Prep or extension always SQUEEZE. if you stay tight your bases virtually can't do anything to mess you up. you, believe it or not, have full control whether or not the mount goes up. best advice for you: ask a more seasoned flier
