Starting a new minecraft server?

Are you or have you started a new minecraft server? im willing to help after having experiance in some bigger servers i decided i wanted to help a new server get to its feet looking good nd hosting an active server. I am a fairly good designer and builder and spend more time than i should on minecraft building. So looking for anyone who has a new server looking for a Co-partner i guess you could say.

    I'm still trying to get my dad to let me make one. He thinks if I do the security thing that you type in the admin and password that people will hack our computers :P
