New York Hotels (New Years 2012)?
So me and 3 of my bros are trying to plan a trip to NY for New Years this year..We are recent college grads so we are trying to do something cheap (around $300/night), and we are not too picky..location doesnt matter, as long as its by a subway station..we would want one room that can fit 4 ppl (even if 2 sleep on the floor lol)..a view would be nice, but not necessary..so order of priorities is 1: close to subway, 2: room size 3: quality (dont want bed bugs n stuff lol) 4. a cool view...thanks for any help!!

well, i happen to know some budget hotels here near the subway, from experience.
1. Colonial House Inn: two minutes' walk from subway, and 10-20 minutes from many attractions including Empire State Building, Theater District and Greenwich Village. price ranges from $130-375, at $300, you could get a considerable one, but you need to pay an extra $25 for everyone except the first two. some rooms can accommodate 5 people.
call at 800-689-3779, 212-243-9669.
2. The Gershwin: 6, R/W to 28th Street. close to subway. have dorm with bunk beds for budget travelers. you 4 can share one dorm and all sleep in bed. there are also other rooms for 4, a little expensive. close to city's attractions with nice view.
call at 212-545-8000
3.Chelsea Savoy Hotel: 1/9 to 23rd Street. rates could be as low as $99 for a single room with double bed. so u can have two with $300. but if you wanna be together, there are larger rooms. perfect location, near Theater District, Greenwich Village and many museums.

i didn't see any bed bugs when i stayed, but check all the time. as to the view, i couldn't say excellent, just not bad. but there are many other cheap hotels near subway, like Cosmopolitan Hotel-Tribeca, The Jane Hotel. never stayed, so no comment.
if you find this info not useful, maybe you can search this website for more subway hotels, http://www.newyorkcityhotelsinfo.com/budget-hotels...
