avi wont open in sony vegas?!?
so i have an avi that is encoded using x264 and sony vegas wont open it? please help me fix it without losing quality. thanks

"nobody" is likely correct. Most of the time when a file won't play in an editor it is a codec issue. Follow his advice and try and play outside of the editor. If it does not play, you will need to update the video codecs on your machine.

do you have h.264 codecs installed? can you play the video outside vegas?
@walter - there is no mac version of Sony Vegas... if he is using it, he is using windows.

Maybe the video file is corrupted, try opening it in Windows Media Player if you have windows, if you have a mac, don't ask me. I'm a windows man.
