Are there any pet snakes that eat eggs?

I would really like a pet snake, but my mom isn't comfortable with keeping frozen mice/prey in the house. Is there a species of snake that can subside off of eggs?

There are, in fact, a whole group of snakes known as egg eating snakes.

These do *not* make good pets for beginners though. Skittish, expensive, difficult to source and stress very easily.

Actually, i cant think of a good beginner pet snake that doesnt need rodents!

If you want a snake that you can handle, that isnt dangerous or known for aggression, that will not die from slight husbandry errors and will be 'forgiving' of beginner mistakes, then you are going to have to get a rodent-eating species.

Otherwise a snake is not the best option for you :)

It's already been said, but I just want to emphasize what the others are saying. There may be snakes that can and will eat eggs, but they are carnivores and are not meant to survive on eggs. Eating eggs is more of a last-resort meal for a snake, I believe. If you aren't at least comfortable with feeding a snake frozen dead rodents, then you definitely need to get another pet. Human digestive systems work very differently from snakes, which is why we can have varied diets and choose to eat meat or not and still thrive. Most other organisms are different. Seriously, I'll say it again: do not get a snake if you won't feed it properly! If you want a vegetarian reptile, get a turtle or a lizard of some kind.

Most tree snakes will eat a birds egg when they come across a nest but to feed a snake only egg is wrong. They will need more than just an egg every other day or two.
