What are the consequences of NOT paying a parking ticket received at an out-of-state university?

I recently received a parking citation while visiting the University of California, Berkeley. However, I am not a student at UC Berkeley nor am I a citizen of California. What will happen if I simply do not pay the citation?

Parking tickets aren't that expensive. What are we talking, $25-$50? Just pay it to avoid any problems. Remember California is broke, and wants every penny it can find. If you don't pay the ticket it will go to warrant, and eventually reported to the state DVM where the car is registered, especially if it is Oregon, Nevada, or Arizona. which borders California. They DO have the license plate number. What YOUR state will do to the registered owner of the car from there is something you should know.
