Mumbai at christmas any tips?

We are three fairly mature travelers going to Mumbai at christmas for one week. Tips on what to see and where to go would be appreciated.

Quite like Bollywood, eating, drinking, and rock music if that's a help

If you really want to experience mumbai, try mid november as they have diwali. (Festival of Lights) - the city of Mumbai is filled with strings of lights and colored paper lanterns during this popular Hindu festival of lights.

Places to see are: Film city/bollywood, Juhu Beach, gateway of india, prince Charles museum, craw ford market, hanging gardens and lots more! Most pubs have rock music. Be sure to go to safe areas only

Eating & drinking – Food is awesome. Be sure to eat at fancy restaurants and always carry your own water filtration bottle. I wouldn't trust even bottled water. I got one from whole food for $20.

  • The Velvet Lounge at Renaissance Powai is rocking on Saturday night with DJ music, best is 11pm-2am. Also ok on Fri, Sun nights too. Several good restaurants across the lake in Powai Orchard Rd. area. I like Saffron & Spice, also Bistro Grill has good Arabic food and sometimes a live acoustic guitar player. Rodas House has good food and a GREAT Karaoke system. I think KTV is on Tuesday night, at least that was 6 months ago.

Blue Frog has a lot of live music, very rocking. Joshi Marg, Lower Parel

Enigma lounge is good for Bollywood dance scene, at JW Marriott hotel in Juhu beach area.

I have not been to Hard Rock Mumbai, however the Hard Rock in Delhi is GREAT, more fun and casual than a typical HR in USA.

Traffic is really bad so I avoid going south in the city, rarely go to Fort area, but you might want to try it one night. There are clubs down there.
