Ford Ranger 93' steering problem. Feels like something has come loose....?
Steering works fine, but I can feel a clunking in steering wheel when I turn, and turn back steering wheel. Like a heavy metal bar is flopping back and forth inside the steering column. Looked at manuel but can't really tell what it could be. Manuel picture doesn't show much when steering wheel is off. Could I access this, "bar" with steering wheel off? What could it be?
No tilt steering wheel. Thanks.

if you have a tilt steering wheel maybe the knuckle is worn and catching.
