Did artichoke get it's name from thinking it is an art to choke someone?

Or did it's name come from the garden of eden

    No, it's because below the edible heart of the artichoke, there is a fibrous piece that is difficult to swallow - aka, the "choke."

    In reality, it comes from Old Spanish and/or Arabic....!!
