Why do people hate My Chemical Romance?

to me:

music like rock metal pop punk, post punk ect is always catogrized sort of like

slipknot/iron maiden etc

then bands like paramore, you me at six, all time low

then bands like bmth etf, fir,

and well i could go on (and i know some of those bands arent the same but)

they think of themselves as elite, like if you listen to classic rock or bands like kiss and led zepelin then all these new stuff is emo **** blah blah.

People get antsy with bands like paramore, ymas, atl because they're young they joke about but they still care about their music and fans.

mcr are a band that arent affraid to express themselves, through dyed hair, or lyrics, or stage makeup and they arent affraid to voice there opinions, people dont like them because they either think theyre above that sort of music, or because mcr are to different for them.

my friend who listens to what he calls pirate metal and what not always called mcr a bunch of emo fags, considering his a depressed bisexual stoner i never understood how he was one to judge, another friend wouldnt even listen to them because of their image from the black parade, but her bf sent her some songs and she loved them. oh and one more friend il mention, who listens to like blur and stuff well he seems to think modern music is rubbish, but its true they dont encourage drugs or self harm or anything and people are going to think what they want and pretend to be all elite and superior to others.

I am a massive fan (yes, obsessive fangirl) of MCR and although I, personally, can't imagine not liking them, I can see why others wouldn't. To some people, their music just doesn't appeal, nor does their image/s.

Another reason is THOSE fans; the ones that only know one member (Gerard) and go on nonsensical and grammatically incorrect rants towards anyone who says the slightest negative thing about them. Trust me, i've been on the end of one, all I said was that Gerard is pretty gay for a straight guy (which I mean COME ON it's obvious)

Anyway, they're a talented band, but one that splits people's opinions. I used to care about people who hate on them but ah, haters gon' hate.

Before i begin i'm entirely impartial i dont no longer hate them, however i don't like them or pay attention to there song. One rationale i hate them is that whenever i opt for up a song journal with them on it and try to learn a piece of writing Gerard Way complains approximately how difficult the album used to be to make and the way it almost killed, and the way he doesnt wish to be a huge rockstar. Personally i consider he will have to develop up. Another is there are actually such a lot of emo's or worse wemo's (wannabe emo's). They insist they're certain however such a lot of can not be certain. Also they'll have written a thought album, many many bands have performed that and one circling demise isn't that common, many bands have performed that. I wont deny they aren't gifted, and sound best at indicates not like tons of bands. My final factor is they appear to be so widespread with the entire twenty first centuary fine songs record. they're NOT the fine (no longer the worst both) however that simply angers me considering the fact that there's a lot bigger song. This is my reviews individuals are entitled to pay attention something they wish and plenty of bands i pay attention to will make individuals move "they suck" or something however its my style. These are simply my reviews.

I am a fan of My Chemical Romance, and i actually did see them in concert. but i can see where some people come from.

They get hated because well:

1. Everyone has different taste so not everyone likes it, writing, sound, whatever.

and 2. honestly, they have some real crazy fans, lots of fan girls too.

I mean I'm a girl who is a fan of them, yes, but i'm not looking to marry one of the members or think any of them are that cute.

And i like them and all but i'm not giving myself "killjoy" names and getting all dressed up in costume with face paint at their concerts.

Because people are ignorant and they always hate things they can't understand. It's easier to talk sh** about MCR than try to listen to their music and understand what hides behind the lyrics.

I actually don't care about the haters, My Chemical Romance is one of the best bands ever.

I love MCR!! They are my favorite band but it's questions like this that make our fan base look retarded. As long as we like it, it doesn't matter. Their music means alot to me and has done alot for me. It all just depends on who wants to listen and actually hear what they have to say. Their music has alot of meaning in it and sometimes people don't get the message and they interpret it wrong or just don't care. Killjoys will be Killjoys & I believe that everybody has an opinion on what they like nobody is right and nobody is wrong

Music is seen as an art form....art is made to provoke feeling whether they are bad or good, it means that they are doing something right. They are doing what they want and what others don't expect!! lol It drives people crazy!!

I agree with you. i love my chemical romance! I think its bcuzz ppl dont care about them and dont know how good their music is. Besides most ppl just listen to that pop crap, and hate theyre stupid and have no idea what good music is:) Trust me, I feel the same c:

They arent really bad as people say. Its overrated and anything overrated gets overhated. If that makes sense. I like some of their songs pretty good. Everyone's a hipster elitist jackass these days and bitches about anything mainstream.
