    100% SCAM

The US Embassy in London has a warning on their website about this scam

    http://london.usembassy.gov/visanews007.html

"If you have received an email notifying you that your application for the Diversity Visa (DV) Program has been successful and that in order to proceed with your application you are required to send money to a named individual at the U.S. Embassy in London, you are a victim of a scam.

Successful DV applicants are notified by the Department of State, Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) by letter, NOT email and are provided instructions on how to proceed to the next step in the process. The KCC will not ask you to send money to them or to this Embassy or any other U.S. Embassy by mail or by services such as Western Union."

First of all the ONLY way to win the lottery is to apply in October through http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ which is the ONLY official site to enter. You probably entered through one of the thousands of scam sites

Second, the UK is not eligible for the DV lottery so you would never send money to the embassy in the UK which does not participate in the lottery

Third, you never SEND money to anyone. You do not pay until you go in person for your interview at the embassy in your country. You would have received a letter in the mail to the address you used when you entered the lottery with instructions on how to schedule your interview

I think you're getting scammed. You didn't give them your details, did you?
