Is this correct : Argentine pianist Martha Argerich has never recorded with conductor Herbert von Karajan?

Does this extend to having never performed together ?

Grazie

Update:

@Alberich: hey buddy hmmm well I'm a huge admirer of Argerich and sorting through my albums of her the other day I just thought how it would seem almost expected that two huge personalities would've got together at least once.

However I couldn't find any evidence and initially I got to speculating as to possible reasons, maybe antipathy from one or the other.

Subsequently though I'm thinking it's not that surprising because compare her recorded discography to many other pianists and it's actually quite modest.

There's no complete concerto cycles from any composer that I am aware of, that I find surprising.

I think she's worked with Claudio Abbado the most, I would be interested though to know what Karajan thought of her though and vice versa or if indeed they ever met.

Of course Sviatoslav Richter recorded with Karajan at least twice and I think they mutually loathed each other or at least Slava gives that impression but that's the thing Richter recorded tonnes of concerti with many d

My various 'anorak' references show no record of them having recorded together (surprising!). However, as for your other question, I can't shed any light on that, sorry.

I've no pertinent info. to contribute: just curious as to why you're inquiring?

This is only speculative - but the reason why (if there is one), would most probably lie at Herr von Karajans doorstep.

EDIT: thanks "mephisto..." for your explanation and commentary. From what I've read and heard about Argerich, she had few if any really serious detractors. von Karajan on the other hand.......'many'. His ego was MONUMENTAL - "I am von Karajan" .......blah! blah! blah!.

But don't get me wrong; for his greatness as a conductor goes undisputed. I have some very old monaural recordings by him and the Old Philharmonia, which IMHO are 'definitive: he had a genuine.......'mystical' insight into the very heart and soul of Sibelius' music: like no other that I've ever heard - my hats off to him in this restricted regard.
