Let us be honest, hasn't Peyton Manning been the best QB the past 10 or so years?

With Tom Brady a pretty close 2nd. Considering everything, team mates, coaches and etc.

Manning is the best QB this past decade. Brady is a system QB, with the best pass blocking O-line since the 90s cowboys, and for two of those Superbowl's his team carried him there. And we all know if Brady gets injured the pats will keep on rolling, with out Manning the colts are horrible. And Manning has had 3 different coaches since entering the league Brady the same one he also got to sit behind Bledsoe for a year.

Both are "system quarterbacks" because they created their systems and call THEIR OWN plays, so it doesn't matter if Manning had 3 coaches and 2 offensive coordinators or Brady had the same coach and a few offensive coordinators. In fact, the Pats coaching system proved to be effective when they won 11 games with a Matt Cassel that hadn't started a game since high school.

Offensive lines have been even, even though Manning hasn't had a good blind side protector since Tarik Glenn retired.

As somebody mentioned, Manning had Edge, Harrison, Dallas Clark and Wayne in the offense but the Patriots had Bruschi, Vrabel, Seymour, Wilfork, Asante and Law on defense.

Let's split the last 10 years:

2001-2005: Brady went 10-1 in playoffs and won 3 out of 3 Super Bowls. Manning went 3-6 in the post season and made only one AFC championship. Brady was better by far.

2006-2010: Brady went 4-4 in playoffs and won 0 out of 1 Super Bowls. Manning went 6-4 and won 1 out of 2. Manning has the edge here.

    Overall, Brady was better.

Peyton Manning is an all time great and a first ballot hall of famer. He has many 4000 yard passing seasons in 10 years than most quarterback even the greatest ever had in a career. Manning only has 1 Super Bowl ring however do not hold that against him. There are some only fair quarterbacks who also have a ring i.e. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. Tom Brady is no doubt a hall of famer and seems to be better under pressure i.e. the playoffs than Manning.

He's been the best QB in the regular season only. It doesn't matter how many 14-2 records he leads the Colts to when you always choke in the postseason. If they didn't get the luck of the draw by playing Rex Grossman's Bears in the Super Bowl, Manning probably wouldn't even have a ring.

For the record, Tom Brady has far and away been the best QB.

I just wanted to state that jj432, Vicktory and Just Plain Joe are the biggest dopes who answered this question.

jj432 can't comprehend basic words in the English language, so the QB argument is way beyond his reach.

Just Plain Joe said Manning is a system QB? Really? Then what is Tom Brady? Regardless of who you think is better, that argument is moronic. Besides, Manning had great years in 2009 and 2010, statistically, with a horrible line and one good receiver. That whole 'Manning has better receivers' argument is history.

And Vicktory, teams win Championships, not individuals. A great QB can get you deep in the playoffs, but no team has EVER won a Super Bowl without some luck and good coaching.

Both first ballot Hall of Famers and totally different QB's. Their rivalry and what makes them both fantastic in their own ways is what makes football so damn fun to watch.

No. Tom Brady has one 3 superbowls. Peyton Manning is great, but I honestly think Tom Brady is *one of the* best quarterbacks in NFL History.

I would say no. It has to be Tom Brady with Manning a close 2nd. Considering everything, teammates, coaches, etc.

Brady has 4 Super Bowl appearances and 3 rings, to Manning's 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 ring. Manning has 4 MVP's to Brady's 2, but Brady is the only unanimous winner of that award. Both have played for Hall Of Fame coaches, Brady with Belichick, Manning with Dungy, but Manning has also had Tom Moore for 12 years as his Offensive Coordinator, also a Hall Of Famer. Both have played for teams that have a stacked side of the ball, Brady with Seymour, Law, Harrison, Vrabel, and Bruschi. Manning with James, Harrison, Wayne, and Clark.

The true difference between the two, is found in 2 areas. The first 1 being that Brady has had success in multiple offensive schemes, and played a majority of his career with subpar talent offensively, Manning on the otherhand is still playing in the same offensive system since his rookie season, and is always surrounded by 1st round draft picks at the skill positions. The second, is the philosophy of the two franchises. The Patriots focus on trying to be balanced, both offensively and defensively. The Colts main focus is to make sure that Manning is always surrounded by enough offensive firepower.

Tom Brady hands down. Peyton Manning is a system QB, evidenced by the fact that he has played in the same system his entire career, and has played with virutally only 1 Off. Coord. during that span. 13 NFL seasons, 12 with the same one. Name another QB in the league that has had that. The Colts do nothing but give Manning weapons on offense. He's had the best pass blocking offensive line since Marino and the Dolphins, and has played almost his entire career with former 1st round picks or Pro Bowlers like Marshall Faulk, Ken Dilger, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James, Dallas Clark, and to a lesser degree, but still former 1st rounders in Joseph Addai, Donald Brown, and Anthony Gonzalez.

each and all of the starters interior the community Pop Warner leagues. to respond to your question: Peyton is a great QB, so i assume it somewhat is going to continuously circulate right down to rings. besides the shown fact that- with that suggested Plunkett has 2 rings yet isn't a HoF'er, and he grow to be not greater effective than Manning. I do think of that Elway, Montana, Marino, and a few others are to par with Manning. Eli is nowhere close. we will see whilst his profession is over. One asterisk for my section concerning Peyton's stats... he performs in a dome, and that pads his stats. over his profession. besides if stats are what we are in seek of for then Brett could be the main suitable... ha!

Peyton Manning has been the better QB than anyone else in the last 10 years is a true statement. Tom Brady as a CLOSE second is not true. He is a distant second. Stats will prove. Super Bowls goes to Brady obviously but Bradys always had a more solid defense to balance with their powerful offense.
