What happens when the other two converters die?
i just got my car back this morning from the show and they said that my catalytic converter was shot, and the car still has two more but they said that they to are on there way out as well and aren't looking to good so my question is what will happen when the other two die?
the car is a 1998 Mercury mystique with the 2.5L V6

What will happen is that you'll get a check engine light as the PCM will not be able to get the fuel trim right from the feedback it gets from the oxygen sensors. If the converters melt or break up it may plug your exhaust or overheat your engine.
