At one time I thought so but not today..Look at those great NHRA guys, John Force he is 62 and still going strong. As long as you can be competitive keep driving.

  • No not at all. I love the fact that Morgan Shepard is still racing. Not well but he is still out there in Nationwide. Mark Martin should only retire if HE feels that it's enough. If they don't do well on the track...maybe reflexes aren't what they should be...then they will know when its time to hang it up and go on to different aspects of NASCAR.

absolutely not. no more than any other sport shoud

@Sonata: I have just as much right to call some older drivers has beens as those has bens have to race. This is America sweetie, get over it.

I always remember that sweetie, of course anyone can say anything they want to about Junior, that's their right. But it's my right to defend him in this forum when people say ignorant things about him and distort the facts. got a problem with that? TS

i don't have anything to get over sweetie, i'm not the one crying here.

That's kinda ridiculous, NASCAR Drivers are very self policing (right Juan) regardless of a dudes age, if he can't keep up and is in the way, he won't be long! NASCAR has enough rules®s.

No. If the driver has the passion for the sport to continue he should be able to continue for as long as he wants/is able to. Simple as that.

No, but a guy shouldn't make a fool out of himself either. It must be the hardest thing in the world to say your going to quit. That's like being defeated. Almost. The driver needs to know when his physical capacities are diminishing, and go out of the sport with dignity, and not just force himself to race out of vanity. Kinda like how older members of our families need to quit driving in their 80's or something, and we all know they never go out too graciously.

No, but then there is some who is going to call them "50 something has beens."

@KIA remember that the next time you get all upset about something said about Jr, as I said you have no respect for other driver except Jr, so you get over it. By the way I am not your sweetie......pumpkin.

Do not care how much you defend jr, yes that is your right. But when you run down other drivers to try to defend jr, it is my right to defend the has been as you call him, so get over it........wannabe.

Yes TS is about your speed and mentality.

  • I don't care. I think they should be told to retire if they can't drive right anymore. If an old guy is a danger, they should tell to park in the garage forever. Old guys who can't drive right should pull outta the way and LET THE FUUUUUUUUUUUURE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLL! "Cause it's comin' down the TRAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Oh the future's gonna be so greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat. Oh I can't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait. The future's sooooooooooooo excitin' to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. If you guys don't understand this, check my activity. Btw, let the future roll is the tag on my display name. I hope you guys can understand I'm amped on the future of NASCAR( some of the young drivers).
