Why do we need to keep pets?

I don't keep my animals because I need them, I have them because I want them and they want me. They are my friends. Companions, And if there are people who keep them as children, well Bless Them then. Because there are so many more that seem to live to abuse animals.

Nobody said we need to have them. Most people keep them for company and pleasure. Not surrogate children.

for company, to build confidence.

some people may live alone, so they may feel better having a pet around. or they may feel more confident having a pet.

There's an old saying -

Those who need to get love get dogs. Those who need to give love get cats.

I believe it.

they become dependent on human.... so its a mater of life and death in some situations....

them not being able to express their selves... doesn't mean that they are objects

BECAUSE WHO ELSE IS GOING TO COME IN THE BASEMENT WITH US WHEN WE ARE 40 AND IN OUR PARENTS HOUSE?
