I have what looks like a 1979 Susan B. Anthony Dollar coin with a double die s mintmark. Do they exist?
I do not believe this to be Filled S (type I).

I haven't heard of any Repunched Mint Marks on the 1979-S dollars. In fact, CONECA, which is the US group that studies and documents RPM's doesn't list any. Also, AFAIK, all of the "business strike" coins had the type 1 mintmark--type 2's exist only on proofs.
If there appears to be doubling on the mintmark, it is most likely "strike doubling", which occurs when the die twists slightly as the coin is struck. This shoves some of the metal sideways, and can leave what appears to be doubling.
Probably the best thing is to take it to a coin dealer to have it verified.
