Can I get this guy banned on PlayStation Network?

Sadly my friend recently got hacked, so he told me what happened to the person. My friend called Sony and they got the account terminated and the hacker's Ps3 got banned. That can happen, but I am not sure about the other things.

The best thing you can do is report him. Call sony or psn. I don't know what they call thier customer service cuz Im an Xbox 360 owner.

you can get your account back if you call sony and proof that its yours. the only way they can steal your account is if you gameshare and when you tell that to sony theyre not going to be happy about that
