Magic The Gathering Question?
If I'm defending with this card http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.asp... and both my opponent's attacking card and this (my) card gets sent to their respective graves, do I still gain 3 lives since my opponent's card goes to their graveyard? ...Or does Sangromancer lose it's effect once it's sent to my graveyard?

Leaves-the-battlefield triggers, like Sangromancer's ability, use the last known information about the objects as they existed on the battlefield, so that means Sangromancer's ability can see creatures that go to the graveyard at the same time Sangromancer does. Magician and Azure Baron have already given the correct answer: You do gain the life.

I have played many a game with this dilema. Let me make an example for you (4 Player EDH Game):
One player casts Sangromancer
Second player Wraths
Every creature that goes to the graveyard needs to be counted because Sangromancer's effect is when a creature goes to the graveyard, you gain 3 life. Assuming that there are many creatures on the battlefield at the time of the Wrath, all opponents creatures that go to the graveyard would have to be counted. Sangromancer's effect triggers because creatures your opponents control are going to the graveyard. You will gain 3 life for each creature going to the graveyard this way.
So, thefinal answer is, yes, Sangromancer's effect triggers. Even though Sangromancer goes to the graveyard at the same time as your opponents, the effect happens on the stack with a split second effect.

It's been a long time since i've played this game... If i remember correctly, the answer would be a no you can't gain 3 life. No one dies first in that situation... both your vamp and your opponent's creature die and are sent to the graveyard at the same time during the end of the combat phase. If you could somehow advance the death of the opponents creature or delay the death of your vamp via certain interrupts or instants (keep your vamp alive 'til the end of your upkeep), then you could use the +3 effect.
Unless the rules have changed since i last played (which was more than a decade ago), both creatures get screwed at the same time so you can't use the effect.
Hope I'm not too old and this was able to help.

You would still gain the 3 life from your opponents creature during the mutual destruction, because they are both being sent to the graveyard simultaneously. Basically, creatures get sent to the graveyard while they are still on the battlefield, so there is a split second for the ability to trigger.

If you must come to a decision to begin gambling MTG, and I propose sure if you'll manage the complexity, get an Intro Pack. The Deckbuilder's Toolkit is handiest well if you understand what you are doing. Yugioh is a dull, damaged recreation. The pics are made to draw youngsters and the playing cards are built with out a steadiness so there's a ban record that alterations each few months and that results in moeny wasted on playing cards that are not able to be performed. Magic does rotate it is codecs however playing cards that experience circled out of common can be utilized in another layout, except pauper. Magic has a type of codecs, from common and improved, to certain ones like Commander.

For you to gain 3 life points
1 that card must be in play at the time the creature card goes to the graveyard.
so since damage is dealt and both yours creature and his creature goes to the grave at the same time. the ability will not trigger until the creatures hit the graveyard, but by then your creature is not in play. Unless your creature has first strike, you will not gain life.
So the answer is NO, you WILL NOT GAIN LIFE.
