What did the founder of Christianity, Jesus Christ, say would identify his true followers?

!) Was it belief in a trinity?

2) Was it the use of a cross?

3) Was it a clergy-laity division?

Update:

Nice responses from a number of you members, thanks. Would the showing of true love of God and neighbour be consistent with any group supporting, tolerating, condoning or even promoting violence of any sort?

    “By this all will know that you are my disciples,” he said, “if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:35) Jesus said that his true followers would be known not just for their words or for the label they apply to themselves but primarily for their actions. Jesus said that those falsely professing to serve him would be distinguished from his true followers by their fruits—their teachings and their conduct. (Matt. 7:15-17, 20)

    For Christ’s true followers, it involves their whole way of life, including their attitude toward money, secular work, entertainment, worldly customs and celebrations, and marriage and other relationships with fellow humans. Christ’s true followers understand what God’s Kingdom is and what it will accomplish. Moreover, they give the interests of that Kingdom priority in life, proclaiming it worldwide, with the help of God’s spirit.

    No Jesus said we would know the tree by its fruit. This actually means you will know a Christian by the fruit of the Spirit as outlined in Galatians 5:22.

    The opposite of the fruit of the Holy Spirit are the works of the flesh, as outlined in Galatians 5: 19-21

    Jesus illustrated this by saying "Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?. Even so, every good tree bears good fruit but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, not a bad tree good fruit.

    Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

    Therefore, by their fruits you will know them (Matthew 7:16-20) The scriptures I have given will show you what to look for.

    In John 13:35 it says By this shall all men will know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

    Jhn 8:12 Then spake Yeshua again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

    John 8:31Then said Yeshua to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

    So it's just that love,faith in yeshua and yahweh,and truth are what would seperate one from the world it's that simple people try to make things so hard they lose sight of the truth and then can't see what's right in their face

    Jesus said, 'By their works shall ye know them.' meaning that their deeds would identify them as does their way of life, their attitudes and their relationships. A tue follower of Christ is kind.

    Here is what Jesus told us to do;

    Matthew 22:35-40 "One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

    How do we do this? Read His word daily. Honor and worship God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Pray continually to the Father in the name of Jesus. Repent of our sins and trust Jesus and His resurrection for paying 100%+ of our salvation and eternal life!

    Love for one another

    John 15:1-12: "(1) I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. (2) Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. (3) You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. (4) Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. (5) I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. (6) If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. (7) If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (8) My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. (9) Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. (10) If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. (11) These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. (12) This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you."

    2 Cor. 13:5: "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?"

    True followers of Christ abide in Christ, and he in them. They demonstrate a sacrificial love for others.

    Romans 8:8-17: "(8) Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (10) If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (12) So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— (13) for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (14) For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (15) For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" (16) The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, (17) and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him."

    True followers of Jesus have the witness of the indwelling Holy Spirit that they are sons of God, and they display evidence of the fruits of the Spirit.

    Jesus, if he existed at all, was a Jew, and that is what he taught, strict Judaism. He did not found christianity.
