Restoring an iPod Touch?
I just updated my iPod Touch 3rd Generation to iOS 4.3.5. It originally had iOS 3 (or something older) on it. If I plug in my iPod to iTunes and click Restore, will it restore it to the original OS? Or will it just reset the iPod but still have iOS 4.3.5?

It will restore your iPod Touch to the current firmware.
That means it will do a clean install of iOS 4.3.5.

It only restores whatever version of iOS you have on it to default everything. It does not downgrade. To get your stuff back on it, look to the pane on the left which houses your iPod tab, right click and restore from backup. So yes, it will stay on iOS 4.3.5.

it relatively is between the various reasons that it relatively is important periodically synchronize your iPod with iTunes. in case you restoration your iPod, you will lose each thing on it. iTunes will positioned returned on despite music, apps, video clips, photos, and so on. are on your iTunes. there is not any thank you to get records returned off an iPod once you have restored it. in case you so desperately do no longer decide for to lose what you have on it, restoring could be an absolute final ditch attempt. in any different case this could be a lesson of the significance of synchronizing your iPod.

Once you restore your ipod, iTunes will download the latest firmware available for you device. So in your case it's not going to be the iOS3, but the latest one available right now. If you would like to have the older firmware, please download that firmware at this website

and you can shift+click on the restore button, and select that downloaded firmware.
Hope this helped
