adopted dog, no name?
i just adopted a hound, approx 2 yrs old, the shelter dont know his name, how long will it take for him 2 recognize a new name? I have had dogs before from other people but always knew the name.

I call him "Harris" that's a great hound's name! stick with though, all the time, accompanied by a treat! he'll get use to it! i've took in older dogs before, plenty of times.

Maybe like 2 or 3 weeks. It could take a while though, so just be patient.

Well first give him a name, second be kind to him and train him to obey you, give him a confortable resting place, keep the water and the food allways in the bool, , give him space to run or to do his necessitys and he shall be you friend until death.
