I have some seriously brutal periods, I have all my life, but I have found ways to get through with less pain. I have all the symptoms, unusually heavy and irregular flow, irregular cycle, bad clotting, horrid cramps, backaches, migraines, nausea, irregular bowel movements, heightened sense of smell, skin issues, chills, hot flashes, fatigue, insomnia, PMDD, and ridiculous mood swings. I take vitamin B for my mood and daytime energy, avoiding caffeine and drinking lots of water along with some light exercise and hot baths/compresses keeps clotting to a minimum and makes the cramps less terrifying, keep your blood sugar regulated and drink chamomile tea and warmed milk at bedtime to help with getting a good night's sleep. My birth control pills have regulated my cycle, fixed my skin annoyances, and lightened my flow, and Pamprin Max actually helps A TON with the rest of the symptoms. Don't stress or panic just yet. Of course give your doctor a call if you're really worried, but periods can be deceptively mean, for years when I was younger I was sure I had some crippling disease every month. So, just stay healthy, hydrated, and satisfy your food cravings, it could be your body asking for something it needs!
