Windows Reinstallation CD Question?

Hi!

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 running Windows Vista.

I was wondering, if I used a 'Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Reinstallation CD'

would it overwrite Vista and install XP so I'd be using XP?

Thanks!

Yes, you would format your hard drive, and install a brand new operating system (in this case XP) so yes it will wipe out your windows vista.

If you have 2 harddrv's or your hard drivr has a c & d partition you should be able to set it up as a dual boot set up.

During the set up it will ask which drive or partition to install the XP too

If it's a recovery disc then it has to be for that computer only or it won't work.

A retail disc would work on any computer.
